Ed Simmons, a former Green Beret medic, decided in 1984 that healthcare and computers were going to be the hot market of the future. Belle Oaks’ first client was McDonnell Douglas Health Information Systems [ our first job order]. Since then we have assisted over 100 HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) vendors and consulting firms and hospitals with candidate searches. We use our national database of healthcare IT professionals, nationwide networking and recruiting expertise to fill all types and levels of HIMSS industry jobs from development and design to sales, delivery and management. Our clients range from start-up to large, multi billion dollar companies. Our aim is to place people in situations where they will succeed and to help our company clients grow.
I have been a recruiter for 42 years. In 1981 McDonnell Douglas Health Services Division asked me to recruit for them in the new field of healthcare and computers. Having been a former US Army Special Forces medic and realizing computers were going to be the wave of the future, I gave up all my clients outside of healthcare and have worked solely in recruiting of healthcare information systems candidates for the past 31 years. My goals are simple - to find candidates great opportunities and companies people who will make a difference!
I have been a recruiter with Belle Oaks since 2005. Best part of my job is getting to know many different, great people and often helping them find new jobs that improve their lives. I have a background in writing, editing and teaching English and have enjoyed living and working in Australia, Hong Kong, Israel and Mexico. Best times on the job so far have been the HIMSS conferences in New Orleans in 2007 and 2012.
